Safe food storage. How to save energy and protect the environment?

April 22 - Earth Day - is approaching, a time when we remind ourselves of the importance of protecting our planet. At BIOmesh, we know the importance of caring for the environment, which is why we are working to develop an intelligent platform for monitoring the quality of stored food, specifically the risk of storage mycotoxins and mold in food products. Our solution - thanks to the use of a "smart nose" measurement - will help pig farmers and pasta and grain processors to monitor the quality of stored food 24 hours a day and alert on the risk of pathogens such as mold or mycotoxins, but also storage pests. This will make it possible to take countermeasures, reduce losses and energy and reduce the carbon footprint.
According to data published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, as much as 30% of the storage cost is spent on the preparation phase (drying, cooling) before the product enters storage. At BIOmesh, we believe that our solution will help increase energy efficiency and reduce the energy required for the storage process. In addition, our platform will help maintain higher product quality over a longer storage cycle, reducing the loss of mold-prone products, both at home and on a larger scale, in food production companies.
